What a laugh!
In November 2008, we received a called from the producers of "The Jon Dore Televisi
on Show" The Jon Dore Television Show is a mockumentary-style sitcom, based on an idea by Jon Dore and John Brunton. The show stars Canadian actor and comedian Jon Dore, of recent Canadian Idol co-host fame. The Comedy Network ordered 13 half hour episodes of the series, which premiered on October 17, 2007 at 10pm ET. The second season premiered on January 21, 2009. They were looking for serious inventers who had been successful in bringing a product to market. They had seen the LitterHouse on some other programs we had participated in and they wanted us to be guests on the show. It took some serious consideration before agreeing. Our goal is to advertise the LitterHouse litter box. Its our newest invention and the best litter box on the market today. Our concern was with the format of the show; a comedy. We were worried that the public might get the wrong idea about The LitterHouse, people might not take it seriously; think its a joke. Clearly that is not the case; people all over the world are enjoying the use of their LitterHouse. Our concerns stemed from the fact that The Jon Dore Show is rated "R", The LitterHouse is more a family oriented product.
In a discussion with the producer we were assured that in no way would we have to worry about bad publicity for the LitterHouse. We decided to throw some fun into what has been a long, trying adventure of inventing/marketing the LitterHouse litter box. Getting the word out about even the best of products is so difficult, we took the opportunity to show case our product and appear on a national television show. That's excellent, free advertising for a growing business in its early years.
Our day began early with a drive into Toronto. Upon reaching the studio we were introduced to many crew members, each with their own experise on the set. First we went to hair and make up. I have never had so much make up on, at least not in one day. A quick hair adjustment and microphone, we were on our way to the set of the LitterHouse workshop.
In one of the older buildings in Toronto, we deployed to the basement. The set was a small room with tools etc. covering the walls. Surrounded by large, heat eminating lights; were 3 chairs. It
Almost immediately Jon began hurling questions at us. His crazy ora filled the room. It was hard to follow his question to the next logical question. Jon's wit is released with every word he
All of the cast and crew were extremely nice and helpful. They seemed to all like each other and they worked very well together. Jon was a blast, on and off the set. It was a pleasure to have been part of Episode 8 Jon Needs Cash Quick.
This was an experience of a life time. Great fun and I am glad we took the opportunity to let our hair down and show the fun side of the people behind LitterHouse.com Inc.
The Many Faces Of Jon In Episode 8... Jon Needs Cash
Thanks to all at the Jon Dore Television Show for the memorable day!!
